The Yate-based team behind Bloccs waterproof covers are used to seeing their products being used by humans all over the world. What did surprise them, was the image of a St Bernard dog happily posing in one.

Submitted as an entry to the Bloccs’ monthly photo and video competition, the dog’s name is Winnie and, according to her owner, she’d suffered a broken toe that needed to be kept dry.

“When she went outside, she would get wet in the grass and lick her cast. That caused an infection.

“I found the Bloccs cast cover on Amazon, and it saved the day. She could hang out outside (her favourite place to be) and didn’t have to wear a cone all the time. We still use the cover pretty much every day.”

Award-winning Bloccs protectors are produced by Precision Dippings Manufacturing (PDM) – a family-run company that was first established more than sixty years’ ago.

“I think it’s fair to say that Winnie’s photo caused quite a stir when we saw it,” said Alex King, PDM’s Brand Manager.

“Our competition attracts some very impressive entries of adults and children wearing Bloccs covers whilst having fun in the water, but we’ve never seen a dog sporting one before.

“Winnie is our monthly winner, and she’s certainly got us thinking!”
