Library assistant Imogen Laverick, a published author herself, has organised the event.

“It’s great that so many local writers are coming along and sharing their work,” she said. “Writing can be a lonely occupation, and this is an opportunity for authors and readers to connect.

“It’s also a chance to celebrate creativity and hopefully inspire others to let their imaginations run free.”

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Dudley Library on behalf of the council.

“This is an exciting ‘first’ for us and I congratulate Imogen and the rest of the library team for making this happen,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries.

“Books are our bread and butter, and this is a chance to meet some of the people writing them.”
