A Soft Play facility is opening at Liskeard Leisure Centre this weekend – part of an investment worth more than £455k that also includes a new café and relocated reception area.

Slides, climbing frames, a crawl tunnel, revolving doors, ball pit and sensory play zones made from high quality, durable materials are all part of the soft play development. Birthday parties can be booked there from 4 April.

“Our new soft play is safe, colourful and packed with fun features,” said Brett Price, General Manager. “Whether children are climbing, crawling or making new friends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The newly developed grab and go cafe offers coffees, teas, sandwiches, paninis and small snacks from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Liskeard Leisure Centre on behalf of Cornwall Council.

“In addition to the new soft play and adjacent café, we’ve moved the leisure centre’s reception area to a lower level – making it more accessible,” said James Curry, GLL’s Head of Service for Cornwall.

“At nearly half a million pounds, it’s been a considerable investment that we believe will make a real difference.”

The Soft Play opens at 1pm on Saturday 28 March.
