Camborne’s Christmas Lights Switch On is happening this Saturday 22 November.

Camborne Brass Band will begin the stage entertainment in Commercial Square at 1pm, followed by performances from CD Kids, Keur Arwodha Kemeneth and Makasong, Holman’s Choir, TR14ers, The Goonbillys, The Ukuhayles and Redruth Carol Choir. Hotchpotch stilt walkers will also be out and about around the town throughout the afternoon.

The event has been organised by BID Camborne, with generous financial support from Camborne Town Council. R G Kellow have installed the lights, helped with road closures and provided sponsorship, whilst other in kind or financial sponsors include Macsalvors Plant Hire, Speedy Hire, Arcadia Tree Care, A R Newport Transport, Cormac, Apollo Bingo and Firecrest.

BID Camborne got in touch with cheeky elves Cam and Bronne who then arranged for Kehelland Shop to host Father Christmas from 2pm to 4.30pm. 

Scallywags Café will be running a Christmas Fair with food and handmade crafts from 3pm to 6pm and the Tyacks Hotel is offering warming drinks and mince pies with Santa’s elves and reindeer.

“Our theme this year is Merry and Bright and Lamps and Tubes Illuminations have done us proud with their street and tree lighting installations,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne Manager.

“Local businesses are looking splendid too with lots of decorations and some special activities planned.

“Christmas in Camborne is always special and we’re looking forward to a fun, very festive time.”
