Better leisure centres in Reading will be holding an open weekend on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November.

In keeping with this month’s ‘Social Enterprise Day’, the Open Weekend will run with the theme of ‘Thriving on Purpose’ – the aim being to celebrate the positive impact of inclusive, purpose-driven activities for people of all ages and abilities.

A range of free activities is being offered, including swim school and water safety taster sessions, boxfit, gym tasters and strength and conditioning masterclasses.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the charitable social enterprise that runs Meadway Sports Centre, Palmer Park Leisure Centre and Stadium, Rivermead and South Reading leisure centres on behalf of the council.

“Our Open Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to visit your local leisure,” said Craig Woodward, GLL Partnership Manager.

“Exercise is key to good health and a fun way of getting to know new people, making new friends and trying something different.”

Each centre has its own open weekend programme, and activities should be booked in advance on https://bookings.better.org.uk/register.
