Wednesday 24 September is National Fitness Day and Better leisure centres in Cardiff will be offering free and discounted activities to mark the occasion.

The special programme of activities at Eastern, Fairwater, Llanishen, Maindy, Pentwyn and Western Leisure Centres includes gym challenges, cardio masterclasses, junior and adult gym tasters, badminton and pickleball drop-ins, junior multi-sports, adult swimming lessons, Pilates, yoga and group cycling.

Western will be holding a large circuits-based fitness class participants are encouraged to dress as superheros. There will also be opportunities to compete against staff in basketball, cornball, badminton and pickleball.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs the leisure centres on behalf of Cardiff City Council.

“We’re delighted to be supporting UK Active’s annual campaign,” said Annie Hillman, Community, Sport and Health Manager.

“Everyone benefits physically and mentally from moving more – no matter how old you are, what health conditions you might have or what you’ve done before. 

“National Fitness Day is an opportunity to try out something new and get involved.”
