A team from Precision Dippings Manufacturing (PDM) in Yate, near Bristol, are exhibiting the company’s products and services at WHX Miami – America’s largest international medical trade show.
Invited to take a stand in the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) UK Pavilion, Alex King and his team have been talking to visitors from all over the world in the Miami Beach Convention Centre.
PDM specialises in the manufacture of rubber-dipped products. Established more than sixty years ago, the company has just had its certification renewed for the International Standard ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems and complies with Medical Device Regulation (MDA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
PDM’s products for the medical sector include anaesthesia re-breathing bags, catheter balloons, prosthetic moulding accessories and medical training aid components.
They also include award-winning Bloccs waterproof covers. Developed by PDM and manufactured in-house, the covers keep casts, dressings and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) lines 100% dry – allowing users to shower, bathe and swim without getting affected areas wet.
“We’re delighted and honoured to be at WHX Miami,” said Alex King.
“Our Bloccs products are on display, and we’ve been explaining why so many clinicians choose to keep them in stock and recommend them to clients – including Dr Kaleb Redden, from the US, who has been highlighting the effectiveness of Bloccs on his Instagram page.
“One of our recent customer case studies features Graeme in Australia. He lives with diabetes and, after losing toes and part of his left foot, began using Bloccs in 2016 to protect his Vacuum Assisted Closures (VAC) while showering, swimming, and bathing. He’s used them ever since and says staying clean and active has greatly improved his confidence and mental wellbeing.
“In addition to Bloccs, PDM has established a well-earned reputation for custom-made medical devices, and we’ve been talking a lot about them too.
“Coming to Miami has been amazing and we’re really pleased with the interest our presence here has attracted.”
