John Walker’s TV and film exploits are extraordinary.

He’s been shot at by planes in France during World War 1, made an arrest for Hercule Poirot, witnessed Daleks attacking Manhattan and sold a car to Steve Coogan.

Having spent more than fifteen years working as an extra in TV crime shows, soaps and films, John’s screen adventures include Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Poirot, Waterloo Road, Torchwood, Midsomer Murders, Captain America, Sherlock and The Woman in Black.

His latest appearance will be at Sedgley Library on Saturday 1 February at 1.30pm when he will be talking about his life behind the scenes and the books he has written.

“John has an incredible career CV, and his books reveal some fascinating details,” said Stephanie Rhoden, Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries and Archives.

“As Britain’s most prolific TV extra, he has played a doctor in Eastenders, Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale, blown his trumpet for William Shakespeare at The Globe and acted in Hollywood.

“What stories he can tell!”
