St Ives Leisure Centre is launching weekly activity sessions for more mature people on Wednesday 5 February from 10am to 12pm.

The programme will include circuits from 1015-11am and a senior swim or table tennis from 11am to midday. There will also be an opportunity to chat and enjoy a hot drink afterwards.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs St Ives Leisure Centre on behalf of Cornwall Council.

“The benefits of keeping active in our later years are well recognised by health professionals,” said GLL’s Community Sport Manager Karen Edmond.

“Those taking part are guided by experienced professionals and, because you’re surrounded by like-minded people, there’s a sense of camaraderie that’s good for the mind as well as the body.

“In my job, I see the difference staying active can make on a daily basis and can heartily recommend these new weekly sessions at St Ives.”
