Badminton, judo, swimming tuition, group exercise classes, water polo and synchronised swimming are amongst the free sessions being offered at St Austell Leisure Centre on Saturday 2 March.

Members and non-members are invited to take part in whatever activities they choose free of charge – but booking in advance is essential.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is a not-for-profit social and cultural enterprise that has been running St Austell Leisure Centre on behalf of Cornwall Council, since 2017.

“Our aim is to provide a fun-filled day to kickstart people’s 2024 fitness aspirations by trying something new and exciting,” said Assistant Manager Jacquelyn Pearce.

“It’s a great opportunity to try something different without having to spend money doing it. Exercise makes you feel good and with Spring hopefully around the corner, now is the perfect time to start getting active.”

The open day begins with a functional fitness class from 9.30am to 9.40am. That’s followed by free badminton, judo and swim school lessons. Synchronised swimming runs from 1-2pm, followed by water polo and sharks’ trials from 2-3pm.
