Residents and staff at Penberthy care home in Newquay enjoyed a celebration fit for a King this weekend.

The kitchen team produced a delicious array of food that included a specially made coronation cake and table decorations included crowns, union jack flags and celebratory bunting.

“Everyone was involved in the event, and we all had a really fun time,” said Penberthy home manager Sue Aldridge.

“We love an excuse to get our party hats on, but this was a truly historic occasion that deserved to be marked in style.”

Offering care to people with dementia and to those seeking relaxed, comfortable residential accommodation, Penberthy belongs to the Cornwall Care group of care homes that is now part of not-for-profit Sanctuary Care.
