Camborne’s second Tykes n Trikes competition has been hailed a success by the organisers.

The weather stayed dry, there were a lot of repeat entries from last year and, with face painters very busy, there were more zoo animals and cartoon characters taking to their bikes than ever.

Funded by BID Camborne businesses through the annual levy and with much appreciated sponsorship support from the Tyacks Hotel and Tesco, the event was managed by a team of hard-working volunteers.

“The races created a real buzz of excitement and I’m so grateful to everyone who turned out to help,” said BID Camborne manager Anna Pascoe.

“Camborne has such a strong sense of community and that was clearly in evidence as people pulled together to ensure everything went off smoothly.

“Thanks to the generosity of Tyacks and Tesco, everyone who competed was presented with a goody bag too.”

The Tots on Trikes race cycled a 200-metre course, whilst Tykes on Trikes (6-10 years) and Teens on Trikes (11-16) completed a 500-metre course.
