Following recent success in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards, former PR manager Rosie Bradbury, from Falmouth, has moved into short-let property management full-time.
Rosie has been running Cart Shed Cottage in Perranwell Station as a self-catering holiday let since late 2019, when the three-bedroom property was converted from rundown outbuildings adjacent to the family home.
In between lockdowns, bookings and reviews have been excellent, with many guests making return visits. In recognition of those achievements, Cart Shed was recently recognised with a ‘Commended’ award in the New Tourism Business category of this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.
Now, Rosie has turned her passion for flexible, hassle-free hospitality into a new career path by taking on responsibility for short-let properties in the Falmouth and Truro area for Pass the Keys, national experts in the short-letting industry.
“The logistics of ensuring high standards of guest accommodation and visitor experience can be challenging, but is something that I really enjoy,” said Rosie.
“When the opportunity came up to become a local partner with Pass the Keys, I felt it would be a great fit. They offer impressive technology and the support of a nationwide brand.
“The last few years have created an understandable boom in the UK breaks market, and I think that will continue for some time to come. Tourism is a mainstay of the Cornish economy – but it’s important to be known for the quality of our provision, as well as for what we can offer in terms of sea, sand and stunning scenery.
“My role is to take the burden of property management off owners’ shoulders by organising all aspects of maintenance and ensuring occupancy and income are as high as they can be. It’s a very busy job, but one that I find immensely satisfying as it definitely plays to my strengths.”
