Before commentating on another of their team’s superb aeronautical displays above Falmouth Bay, the Red Arrows support crew took time out to enjoy afternoon tea at the Royal Duchy Hotel.

Situated on the town’s seafront and commanding panoramic sea views, the hotel proved the ideal spot to enjoy food and drink on the terrace prior to taking to the microphone and talking the thousands of spectators who had gathered to watch through the complex manoeuvres taking place in the skies above them.

It’s the second successive year that the Royal Duchy has hosted the pre-performance tea.

“The Red Arrows are a highlight of Falmouth Week and it’s always wonderful to see them here,” said Brend Hotels Director John Allen. “Some of our younger guests were particularly thrilled to be given the chance of meeting members of the team and getting their autographs. It was a very special moment for all of us.”

Falmouth is the only place in Cornwall to feature on the Red Arrows display programme this year. Crowds of people lined the shoreline to watch and, thanks to good sea conditions, hundreds more took to boats to enjoy the spectacle from the water.
