Eighties singing star Ryan Paris, who had a huge worldwide hit with Dolce Vita, will be making his first live appearance in the UK for decades when he performs at St Ives Guildhall on Friday 6 April.
Broadcaster and writer Judi Spiers will compere the evening and a video DJ will continue the eighties’ theme before and after Ryan’s performance with more music from the era. Audience dancing will be encouraged throughout.
It’s 35 years since Dolce Vita was originally released and the song continues to be a massively popular part of Ryan’s singing repertoire. He spent 10 weeks in the UK singles’ chart, peaking at No 5, whilst also reaching No 1 in France, Belgium, Holland, Demark, Spain and Norway and No 3 in Germany.
Ryan, who comes from Italy, has continued to record and produce songs – his most recent ones being “You Are My Life”, “Buonasera Dolce Vita” and “Love on Ice” which have all done well on a global scale. The singer is currently planning a UK and worldwide tour this year to mark the 35th anniversary of Dolce Vita’s massive chart success.
“Ryan is really looking forward to appearing in St Ives and is very keen for the show to have a dance party atmosphere,” said his manager, Christine Read. “He hasn’t performed in the UK for a very long time because he’s been so busy. I know his fans will be delighted to have the opportunity to see him back onstage in a great West Cornwall venue.”
As a member of the Prince’s Trust Composers’ Club, Ryan will be donating some of the ticket sales money to the Prince’s Trust. The rights to two of his songs have previously raised funds for the same cause.
Tickets cost £12 each and doors open at 7pm on Friday 6 April at St Ives Guildhall. To book online, visit the website or call 01726 879500 for further details.
