Kelly Bloomer loves reading – so much so that she has been recommending books on Book Tok for the last three years.
She’ll be talking about her role as a Book Tok influencer at Stourbridge Library on Wednesday 6 May at 6.30pm. Her favourite genres are thriller, romantasy, fantasy and horror and her favourite authors include John Marrs, Sarah J Maas and Lucinda Berry.
Book Tok is a massive and influential Tik Tok subcommunity where creators like Kelly produce emotional reaction videos to share and review books.
“It’s essentially a digital book club that has become a powerful marketing force in publishing that’s credited with changing the way people find new literature to read,” said librarian Jodi Wray.
“It will be fascinating to hear Kelly talk about her own experiences as a Book Toker and why she thinks Book Tok has become such a successful platform in only a few years. She’s happy to answer questions at the end.”
