Stourbridge Library is marking World Book Night on 23 April with a special reading hour from 7-8pm.
Organised by The Reading Agency, World Book Night is all about bringing people together for one reason – inspiring others to read more.
The event at Stourbridge will run from 6.30 – 8.30pm, with refreshments available before 7pm and participants invited to bring their own book.
“According to The Reading Agency, 8.5 million people in the UK struggle to read – that’s around 1 in 6 adults,” said librarian Jodi Wray. “World Book Night raises awareness of how important reading is in so many ways and, as a library, we wanted to be part of that.”
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that operates Stourbridge Library on behalf of Dudley Council.
“Reading helps grow our imagination, understand other cultures better and learn new skills,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries.
