A new soft play at Liskeard Leisure Centre has been officially opened by Jane Pascoe, Cornwall Councillor for Liskeard South and Dobwalls.
The new facility is part of part of an investment worth more than £455k that also includes a new café and relocated reception area.
With a thrilling twin lane slide for friendly races, a fun zigzag bridge to test balance and coordination, and revolving doors that add an extra element of discovery, it’s already proving a huge hit with children up to the age of ten.
There’s also a separate area for under 2s that has age-appropriate features like a fun mirror maze, a spinner run to encourage movement, and soft hanging snakes to reach, grab and giggle at.
“Our soft play is proving very popular, and we’re delighted with the large number of bookings taken so far,” said Brett Price, General Manager. “We can also do birthday parties with kids enjoying 60 minutes in soft play, followed by 45 minutes in a designated party room.”
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Liskeard Leisure Centre on behalf of the council.
“We were very pleased that Councillor Pascoe, Community Services Director Melanie Brain, Leisure Services Manager Heath Brandwood and Liskeard Mayor Christina Whitty were able to join us for the opening,” said James Curry, GLL’s Head of Service for Cornwall.
“It’s a significant development and a great addition to the services we offer at Liskeard.”
