Cradley Library is hosting a Ramadan exhibition from 11am to1pm on Thursday 19 February.

Organised by Halesowen’s Baitul Ghafoor Mosque, there will be well displays featuring information about how Muslims celebrate Eid, religious fasting, Eid card making, and Ramadan recipes. There will also be children’s books and a henna demonstration.

“We’re looking forward to staging this free event during half term,” said Sue Morgan-Salcombe, Library Manager.

“The sacred month of Ramadan is one of the most meaningful times of the year for Muslims worldwide and begins with the sighting of the new crescent moon. This year that’s expected on the evening of 19 February.”

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Cradley Library on behalf of Dudley Council.

“The exhibition is a timely opportunity for people to find out more about Ramadan and its importance to the Muslim community,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries.

“Libraries are sources of knowledge, and this will help further understanding of significant religious belief.”
