Small Business Saturday on 6 December is being celebrated in Camborne with double stamps on loyalty cards for every purchase made in participating businesses.
Cornwall Council has also funded free parking on the day in the town’s Rosewarne long and short stay car parks.
Launched by BID Camborne in 2022, Camborne’s loyalty card scheme encourages people to shop locally.
A £2 minimum spend is required and, when ten stamps are collected, the card is entered in a monthly draw to win prizes of £100, £75 and £50. Individuals can submit as many stamped cards as they wish.
“The card has proved extremely popular with tens of thousands of transactions recorded since it was first introduced,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne Manager.
“Customers should simply present their loyalty card as usual this Saturday and refer to the relevant newspaper article or social media post to ensure they get their double stamps when shopping.
“We’re very proud of the many independent businesses we have in Camborne and Small Business Saturday is a good opportunity to buy Christmas presents, visit the Christmas tree festival at Camborne Parish Church and warm up with festive food and drink at one of our many restaurants and cafes – all without parking charges.
“The town centre is looking very bright and beautiful with its festive lights, tree and amazing window displays. And a warm Camborne welcome is always guaranteed.”
