Silent discos, five-day intensive swimming lessons, soft play, inflatable aquaruns, junior gym, tennis, junior pickleball, trampolining and badminton – just some of the many holiday activities available at Better leisure centres throughout Cornwall this October half term.
There will be opportunities for kids to swim for a quid in each of the nine centres from 9-10am and Newquay’s Trampoline Park’s three-lane obstacle course and bounce-led reaction pods are a sure-fire way of keeping the whole family active and amused.
St Ives is holding a silent disco on Wednesday 29 October that includes glitter tattoos and games for £7.50, and Newquay is staging a Halloween Soft Play Disco on Friday 24 October at a cost of £10 for each child and accompanying adult.
An Ofsted-registered holiday club suitable for children in school years 1-7 is also being held at St Austell at a cost of £32 for non-members. Supervision is provided by staff from 8.30am to 4.30pm and an action-packed programme includes swimming, kwik cricket, dodgeball, soft tennis, badminton and football.
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs leisure centres in Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, St Austell, Bodmin, Newquay, Truro, Helston and St Ives on behalf of Cornwall Council.
“We’re looking forward to lots of half term fun with a packed schedule specific to each of our locations,” said Ben Wilkinson, GLL Partnership Manager in Cornwall.
“Ensuring youngsters are well entertained during a school holiday period can be challenging for parents but there’s a lot going on at our centres. We expect to be busy, so advance booking is highly recommended.”
