Four-year-old Louis Hood switched on Camborne Christmas lights and stole the show.
Born with half a heart, little Louis has already endured three open heart operations. Not that his medical condition stops him living life to the full.
“Louis is a real cheeky chap who loves to act out scenes from his favourite movies,” his mother Jodie Hood told ITV Westcountry. “He’s just such a character, everyone who meets him loves him.”
Louis made the most of his moment in the Camborne spotlight – waving to the hundreds of people who had turned up to watch and wishing them Happy Christmas.
“With Louis and his special heart, hopefully he is here forever, but every moment counts,” said Jodie. “It’s about making special memories, and this is one we can really treasure.”
Organised and funded by BID Camborne, with generous support from Camborne Town Council, the Christmas lights switch on was marked with Winter Wonderland shop windows, stage performances and stilt walkers.
“The atmosphere was wonderful, and Louis was amazing,” said BID Camborne Manager Anna Pascoe.
“Having him there to light up Camborne was hugely special for everyone.”
Some of those taking part in the event were wearing fancy dress – including Samantha Hussey, Chair of BID Camborne.
“It’s been a privilege for BID to organise the town’s Christmas lights again this year,” she said. “We hope that they bring lots of good cheer to our customers and visitors during the festive period.”
