Three free talks coming up at Dudley Library are truly extraordinary in content.

The first on Thursday 24 October is being given by local science fiction writer Simon Ward, who will be talking about his three books in his Awakening Series: ‘Finding Love in 2045’, ‘Awoken in 2046’ and ‘Time to Click’.

Simon is the host of the Budding Author podcast and will also be giving tips on how to write a book and get published.

On Wednesday 13 November Tenebrous Texts, publishers of ‘dark and speculative fiction’, are launching two books from new authors Laura Liptrot and Steven C Davis.

Laura’s book ‘Dreamcatchers’ is described as the ‘first of a space-fantasy-romance series’ and Stephen’s ‘Hurnungaz The Dark Breath of Earth’ is ‘a dark horror folk novel of Robin Hood – but not as you know him!’ The event will include readings from both books and a question-and-answer session.

It’s Professor Black’s turn to explore the other worldly on Thursday 28 November.

‘A Gathering of Witches’ delves into the UK’s macabre witch hunts and trials and tells the tales of individuals involved.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL runs Dudley Library on behalf of Dudley Council.

“This is the season for stories that go beyond the everyday and these three free evening author talks will certainly get their audiences thinking,” said Sharon Whitehouse, GLL’s Dudley Library manager.

“We expect them to be popular and booking is recommended.”
