Dudley libraries will be a hive of activity during October half term – and plenty of them will be spooky.

From Halloween craftmaking, storytelling and witches’ potion trails to batty bats, an articulated skeleton and 3d black cat creation, spine-tingling fun is guaranteed.

There is also an opportunity to get prepared for fireworks night, decorate biscuits, grow a hedgehog and carve a pumpkin.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL runs 13 libraries, Dudley Archives Centre and the Local History Service on behalf of Dudley Council.

“It’s important that the whole family feel welcome in our libraries – especially during school holiday periods like October half term,” said Stephanie Rhoden, GLL Partnership Manager for Dudley Libraries.

“We’ve worked hard to ensure there’s lots to do for everyone and are looking forward to some spooktacular creativity.”

The libraries involved are Wordsley, Halesowen, Sedgley, Long Lane, Coseley, Dudley, Gomal, Brierley Hill, Netherton, Stourbridge, Cradley and Kingswinford.

Councillor James Clinton, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:

“We’ve more than 100 activities happening across our libraries this half term with crafts, storytime sessions, Lego and board games, competitions and films.

“Check out what’s on at your local library and have some Halloween fun this October”
