Healthwatch Cornwall is launching a new Mental Health Partnership Board and invites anyone with an interest in improving mental health services to get involved.
The event will take place on Tuesday, 8 October at Lanivet Community Centre from 12pm to 4pm.
Described as a collaborative forum that brings together individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges, mental health professionals, local authorities, and community organisations, the board’s aim is to shape and influence mental health policies in line with local needs and priorities.
The remit includes:
· identifying gaps in mental health services
· working to improve quality, accessibility, and outcomes for those accessing support.
· Amplifying the voices of individuals with lived mental health experiences and making sure their insights inform important decisions.
· Monitoring the performance of mental health services
· Fostering partnerships between service providers and promoting integrated and coordinated care.
“Participants in the Mental Health Partnership Board will play an essential role in ensuring that mental health services in Cornwall are responsive, effective, and focused on the needs of the community,” said Healthwatch Cornwall CEO Debbie Gilbert.
“This event is open to all – from those who have experienced mental health challenges to caregivers and professionals in the field. Everyone’s input is invaluable.
“It’s a community-driven approach to healthcare, and personal stories are key to our understanding about the impact services are having on their users. What could be done better? What would you recommend?
“No booking is required so please just turn up.”
