Voting has opened for this year’s Camborne Community and Commerce Awards.
Since its launch in 2020, the event has proved a popular way of acknowledging the individuals, groups and businesses that voters believe make an outstanding contribution to the town.
Jointly organised by BID Camborne and Camborne Town Council, there are twelve award categories, and all nominees must live, work, volunteer, study or be part of a community activity in Camborne.
Voting boxes are available in the library, Tyacks Hotel, Kath’s Plaice, Up Memory Lane Interiors, Camborne Games, British Heart Foundation, Tesco, Delight2Bite and Cornish Oven. People can also vote online by visiting the Camborne Town Council website.
“These awards have become a highlight of the Camborne calendar and we’re looking forward to another bumper year of nominations,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne Manager.
“All nominations will be carefully scrutinised by our judging panel and a shortlist of nominees will be announced by 20 April.
“Our business and residential communities are strong and mutually supportive. We’re proud of our town and these awards are a golden opportunity to celebrate its uniqueness.”
Camborne Mayor Zoe Fox said: “Camborne is a fantastic place to live work and play and we have a great sense of community – it’s nice to be able to recognise this through these awards.
“We all know those special people who make a real difference every day, who go the extra mile and put in 110%. This is our chance to say ‘thank you’ and show our appreciation.
“There are categories for teams, businesses, groups and individuals – so get voting for your favourites!’
The deadline for nominations is midday on 13 March and the awards ceremony will take place on 23 May.
