Camborne town centre businesses created their best window displays ever for this year’s Trevithick Day.

That was the verdict of those judging BID Camborne’s annual Trevithick Day competition. About thirty businesses fully decorated their shopfronts, whilst others marked the occasion with St Piran flags and Cornish colours.

Home furnishing specialist Up Memory Lane, which has a successful shop sharing arrangement with MRH Saddler, won first prize. Gift shop Jojangles came a close second and charity Cornwall Animal Hospital claimed the third podium place.

Another six businesses were selected as ‘Excellent’ for ‘significant original thought and effort’ and their ‘very detailed and aesthetically pleasing display’. They were Scope, The Make Space, Under the Collar, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Delight2Bite and Cards for all Occasions.

“This year’s windows were truly wonderful, and the judges had a very difficult job choosing which ones were best,” said BID Camborne manager Anna Pascoe.

“I’m so proud of the town and our community’s collective will to celebrate our Cornish heritage in style. The day was a great success and I heartily congratulate everyone who worked so hard to make it an experience to remember.”
