In preparation for what they are hoping will be the biggest and brightest Camborne Christmas ever, the BID Camborne team has created two seasonal competitions.
The first, for children aged 11 and under, invites competitors to colour in a Camborne Christmas scene and write down the number of baubles used in the decorations. The winner will be awarded a £20 gift voucher to be spent in BID member shops or businesses.
The second competition, open to older children and families, encourages participants to explore the town and discover in which shop windows Cam and Bronne, Camborne’s Christmas elves, have hidden custom made baubles. The winner will be given the honour of switching on the 2023 Camborne Christmas lights.
The deadline for both competitions is noon on Friday 16 December 2022.
“We wanted to introduce some extra Christmas excitement this year by encouraging even more of our young people to get involved in the festivities,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne manager. “Not many people get the chance of turning on a town’s Christmas lights, so it’s a prize we believe is well worth winning.”
This year’s big Christmas lights switch on event will take place on Friday 25 November at 6.30pm and has a twelve days of Christmas theme. The winner of this month’s loyalty card draw will be standing on the podium to push the big red button.
Launched in February, the loyalty card scheme has proved very successful and works by participating BID businesses stamping a customer’s card. Each card has space for up to ten stamps and, once filled, is entered into a monthly draw. First prize is usually £100 in vouchers, but the Christmas bonus this year is also switching on the Camborne Christmas lights.
