St Austell is the latest Better leisure centre in Cornwall to offer children plenty of physical activity this Christmas through the Time2Move Holiday Programme initiative.

Swimming and multi-sports will be included in the sessions which last for a minimum of four hours each and include a free meal for every child attending.

The programme is mainly open to children who receive free school meals but there are a limited number of spaces available to other children at a cost of £12.50 per session.

Not-for-profit social enterprise GLL runs Better leisure centres throughout Cornwall on behalf of Cornwall Council.

“We’re delighted to be expanding our involvement in this excellent and much-needed scheme,” said James Curry, Head of Service for GLL in Cornwall.

“Encouraging children to be physically active is vital and Time2Move is a great way of providing fitness opportunities to those who may not otherwise be able to afford them during school holidays.”

Other Better leisure centres around Cornwall taking part this Christmas include Liskeard, Bodmin, Truro and Launceston.

The programme is open to children aged 5 to 16. Voucher code information can be found here.
