Anyone wanting to become a qualified National Pool Lifeguard is being given the opportunity to join a course being run at Newquay Leisure World from Tuesday 20th to Sunday 25th July inclusive.

Successful candidates will be offered a fixed term contract for the summer holidays on completion of the course at Ships and Castles Leisure Centre in Falmouth and Newquay Leisure World. They will also be rewarded with a loyalty bonus.

The course runs from 9am to 5pm each day and those wishing to enrol will be given a swim test. Recruitment days are being held at Ships and Castles on Friday 16 July from 11am to 3pm and at Newquay Leisure World from 12pm to 4pm.

GLL runs thirteen leisure facilities in Cornwall on behalf of the council.

“Becoming a qualified lifeguard is an important step for those wanting a career in the leisure industry,” said GLL’s Senior Partnership Manager Amelia Kitchen. “GLL is a UK-wide social enterprise so, whether someone is looking for a rewarding job in Cornwall or beyond, this is a real chance to get some excellent experience.

“We are also looking for already qualified lifeguards to join our teams on fixed term contracts – there really are some exciting vacancies available.”
