An experienced strategic healthcare leader has taken on the role of chairperson for the Charity, Cornwall Care Limited (CCL) Board.
Sally Taylor was chief executive of St Luke’s Hospice in Plymouth for nearly 22 years and is the current vice chair of Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust. A qualified chartered accountant, Sally’s impressive list of achievements include establishing new services, leading successful bids, increasing fundraising income and winning national recognition for an integrated specialist palliative care service at St Luke’s. She and her team have also set up a social enterprise to deliver domiciliary care and launched a new crisis team.
“We’re absolutely delighted that Sally is now working with our Cornwall Care team. 2021 is our 25th Anniversary and we have an ambitious growth plan. ,” said CEO Anne Thomas. “Sally has a huge amount of experience which will undoubtedly prove invaluable.”
Sally took up her new appointment on 1 January – replacing Philip Rees who resigned as chair of Cornwall Care Limited at the end of 2020.
“Philip remains chair of the Cornwall Care Services Limited (CCSL) board which oversees the operational side of our service delivery, whilst CCL is responsible for our charity’s strategic direction,” explained Anne. “That means he and Sally will often be working together and I’d like to take this opportunity of thanking Philip for all that he has done and continues to do in helping us grow and develop.”
Employing around 1500 people, Cornwall Care run 16 care homes and a network of community outreach facilities.
