As a former Head of Royal Protection, Dai Davies has a unique and fascinating insight into security at the very highest levels. His views have been sought by countless print and broadcast outlets over the last few years and, with the Royal Family again hitting the headlines in recent weeks and months, he has become the acknowledged go-to expert on matters of royal security.
Dai will be describing his previous role and experiences at the Saunton Sands Hotel in North Devon during the weekend of 24-26 January and again from 20 -22 March. His first talk on Friday evening following dinner will be on the history of royal protection from George III to the present day and his second, on Saturday at 3pm, will be about Princess Diana.
“We’re delighted to be welcoming Dai Davies to the hotel in both January and March,” said Marketing Manager Kim Davey. “His long and distinguished career with the Metropolitan Police Service included planning for the prevention of terrorism and culminated in being in charge of keeping the Queen and other members of the royal family safe – both at home and abroad. He still provides strategic advice and operational support on intelligence, security, protection, threat and risk protection matters worldwide and is an accomplished and very entertaining speaker.”
Tickets for Dai’s Friday evening talk cost £50 per person, to include dinner and a glass of prosecco. Tickets for his Saturday afternoon talk on Princess Diana cost £40 per person, including a tea buffet. A special weekend rate is also available from £240 per person, to include a 2-night stay, breakfast and the full event programme.
