Callestick Farm’s Elderflower Sorbet has been awarded two stars in the 2019 Great Taste Awards (GTA) – a rating officially described by the awards supervisors as ‘outstanding’ and ‘above and beyond delicious’.

The brand’s Rum and Raisin Ice-Cream also achieved a one star ‘simply delicious’ rating for being ‘a food that delivers fantastic flavour’.

Great Taste is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for fine food and drink in the UK. Fastidiously blind-tested by a judging panel that includes selected chefs, buyers, fine food retailers, restaurateurs, food critics and writers, winning a GTA award is the industry equivalent of being awarded an Oscar.

Judges’ comments on the elderflower sorbet included: ‘Bright white, refreshing well balanced sorbet. Moreish. Delicious fresh elderflower flavour with good mouthfeel’. The rum and raisin is ‘a creamy ice-cream with a gentle rum flavour and plump fruit’. Labelling for both products will now contain the relevant awards’ logos.

“Our thirtieth anniversary year is proving exceptional for us in so many ways,” said Marketing Manager Amy Breach. “We’re exporting to China, have won Taste of the West, Good Food and Chef’s Choice awards and been shortlisted in two Great British Food magazine categories. To say the whole team is over the moon is an understatement – we’re thrilled!”
