Martin Matthews has become Chairman of DM Orthotics, the Redruth-based company he owns and founded.
A leading clinical authority on dynamic movement orthoses and an honorary associate professor of Plymouth University, Martin has overseen DMO’s impressive growth and development since first establishing the business just over fourteen years ago in November 2004.
Working alongside him as Chief Executive Officer will be Dan Severn, who first joined DMO’s clinical team in 2010 as a chartered physiotherapist in paediatrics. He was promoted to General Senior Manager in 2016 and Operations Director in 2017.
“Dan will lead the day-to-day running of the company whilst I focus on research, new products and our future vision,” said Martin. “Like me, Dan is committed to DMO becoming a world leader in our sector and we’re both very excited about a whole raft of projects that are currently in the pipeline.
“Since Redruth is where our manufacturing takes place, Dan and his family will be moving to Cornwall. I wish them well with the re-location and have no doubt they will be very warmly welcomed.”
DMO designs and manufactures made-to-measure dynamic movement orthoses to manage the physical effects of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions like multiple sclerosis, stroke, cerebral palsy and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Employing more than 55 staff, DMO products are distributed throughout the UK and to over 25 countries worldwide.
Completing DMO’s senior management changes is Emma Northover, a qualified chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser who joins the company as Chief Financial Officer.
