When Jo Adams visited Fistral Beach in Newquay whilst on holiday last year with her family, she looked up at the Headland Hotel and said that was where she wanted to work. Twelve months later, her dream has come true and she couldn’t be happier.
Jo is the Headland’s new Spa Manager, in charge of 21 staff and a five-bubble-rated facility that includes six treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, manicure and pedicure stations, an indoor pool, gym, hydropool, steam room and hot tub.
Now living in St Mawgan with her husband and two children, Jo grew up in Cornwall but moved away when she was nineteen. A career in the spa industry followed.
“I’ve worked in some wonderful places, but nothing can beat The Headland,” said Jo. “The team are incredible – definitely some of the best people I’ve ever worked with. I love the fact that we’re able to provide guests with a truly luxurious, indulgent experience that relaxes and pampers them because, as well as making them feel good, knowing we’ve made a difference makes us feel good too.
“We’ve had an extremely successful August in terms of the number of treatments provided and, with some special events happening in the coming months, autumn is looking busy too. Not that our clients will notice – for them The Headland Spa will always be an oasis of calm and serenity.”
A Wellness Weekend is being held on 22 and 23 September which offers guests a spa day, superfood facial, cleansing smoothie and a cleansing foot ritual for £80. A free Autumn Spa and Wedding Open Day is also being held on 14 October from 11am to 3pm.
