Following a string of recent awards and successes, The Headland hotel is significantly expanding its food offering. As a result, it has embarked on a recruitment campaign for more chefs of all levels and, to attract the right people, is promising a bonus of £1000 for each successful applicant after the first six months.
Samphire is the only double-rosette awarded restaurant in Newquay and has recently been awarded the title of Cornwall’s ‘Best Restaurant’ by the Muddy Stiletto Awards. It’s a modern dining restaurant in a classic space, serving a range of fine, top quality food.
The rosette-awarded Terrace is the hotel’s more relaxed, beach-side offering – with a menu that includes a selection of fresh local seafood, chargrilled cuts of meat, pasta dishes, seasonal salads and daily specials, along with ‘expertly-muddled’ cocktails.
“We’re expanding our kitchen team and want to attract the best culinary talent possible,” said General Manager Darryl Reburn. “The first £500 will be paid on successful completion of a thirteen week probation period and the remaining £500 after six months. Other benefits include discounted dining and accommodation for the chef and their family, free meals whilst on duty, live-in accommodation if required and five straight shifts of work per week. We even wash and launder our chef’s uniforms so they don’t have to do it themselves!”
