For those wanting to treat Dad to an extra special Father’s Day treat, the Headland Hotel in Newquay has something different to offer.

Clayzer is a virtual reality game that allows those playing to experience the thrill of clay pigeon shooting. The Headland will be offering the sport on Father’s Day, together with a sumptuous Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea – with a masculine top-tiered twist.

“We’ve given the classic afternoon tea a shake-up with a marvellously meaty selection of treats alongside traditional homemade scones with lashings of clotted cream and jam, finger sandwiches and Cornish loose leaf Tregothnan Teas,” said General Manager Darryl Reburn. “The Clayzer game is an added bonus. Participants use real, modified and deactivated shotguns to ‘laser shoot’ clays as they’re fired across the sky.

“Anyone capable of holding a gun and aiming it can take part – so children can challenge their dads. We’re also offering a prize of a £60 voucher to spend in our Samphire Restaurant to the top-scoring dad on the day.”

The Clayzer shoot costs £10 per person and the Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea is £37 for two – with a complimentary pint of ale for every dad included.
