More than 150 people attended an event to celebrate the launch of Brewin Dolphin’s Truro office on 20 April.

Held in Lemon Street Market, guests travelled from all over Cornwall and as far afield as London and Dublin to welcome the return of the multi-award winning UK wealth management company.

Greeted with drinks, canapes and a specially-made Cornish-flagged cake provided by The Little Cake Shop in Newquay, clients and Brewin Dolphin staff mingled and chatted before listening to short speeches from Divisional Director Darryn Richards and Regional Director Hal Catherwood.

“We’re delighted to have opened our new offices in 24 Lemon Street,” said Darryn, who lives in Redruth and has been an investment manager for more than 23 years. “My locally-based colleagues Jonathon Croggon and Lee Dearden will be joining me there and we all look forward to helping more Cornish clients achieve their financial goals.

“With interest rates at historic lows, retirees are keen to get a decent level of income from their investments and we now scour the world for the best returns without taking excessive risk. We also have wealthy clients who want to make the most of their tax allowances and plan for their family’s future. Brewin Dolphin is a highly successful FTSE 250 company, with an excellent reputation, and we’re very pleased to be able to bring all that we can offer back to the heart of Cornwall.”

Dr Alan Stanhope, from Carnon Downs, has been a Brewin Dolphin client for many years.

“They’re an excellent company that provide top-notch information and I feel very safe with them,” said Dr Stanhope. “It’s a fantastic local service.”
