Soraya Jackson-Hicks hands over the colouring bowl to Sophie Kneebone, whilst Ross looks on

With co-owner Soraya Jackson-Hicks about to go on maternity leave, a new member of staff joining on a permanent full-time contract and turnover increasing year on year, Rudi’s hair salon in Falmouth is booming and blooming.

Situated in Well Lane and described by customers as having the cosy feel of your own front room, the business was first established in the same year that Rudi, Soraya and Ross Jackson-Hicks’ four-year old son, was born.  Now the imminent arrival of a new brother or sister means that Soraya will take a break whilst the team welcomes Sophie Kneebone, from Falmouth, as the salon’s new technician.

“Sophie has worked for us on a part-time basis in the past and we are delighted to have her back,” said Ross Jackson-Hicks.  “She’s trained in London, is very creative, loves being busy and has a great personality – just the right characteristics for our team.”

With the business going from strength to strength, Ross has also been developing his own range of natural hair care products.

“There are a lot of exciting things happening, not least parenthood for the second time,” said Ross.   “I can’t say any more about the product line we’re working on for the moment but watch this space in a couple of months’ time.”
